Practice Philosophy

We want to share with you our beliefs about our practice. Our philosophy is to help each patient achieve the highest level of dental health appropriate to them recognizing that not all patients have the same dental needs or desires. Each patient that comes to us is unique. There are procedure codes that define what we do, however what happens in your mouth is unique. You are not going to be a person that is a number.

Your mouth is a part of your face, smile and personality…it is important that you understand that. We do dentistry to help people get the best out of their lives. Your mouth is the most useful part of your body…..why? You breathe with it, you eat with it, you talk and communicate with it, we greet with it, we kiss our children and spouses with it and it is important as we eat and drink at least 5 times a day with it. It has a critical role in nourishing your body.
If your mouth is diseased and you can’t chew or can’t enjoy food properly you are not getting the proper nutrition and any plaque or disease can get into your stomach and can affect your well-being. It also affects confidence and appearance it can affect your family and your business.
It is important that your mouth is looked after in a life-long way. The foundation of that care happens in our hygiene department. We look after all the health and manage the build-up that occurs regardless of the amount you brush and floss.

There is constant wear and tear because you use it all the time. Things can change fast sometimes.
But here is the great thing about Dentistry, it is the only science that has the materials and techniques that can make it look as good as new until the day you die.
We are passionate about this. Our goal is to share with you the possibilities. We are focused on your concerns and prevention of problems.
With all of that in mind we would ask you to identify how you would like to enter our practice, please know that it is not uncommon for a person to change the level of care they prefer over time. Which level seems appropriate for you now?

What To Expect
Level 1:
If you prefer level 1 or have an emergency today, then your first visit will be 20 minute consult to handle your immediate concern. This typically involves a limited problem focused exam, one or two diagnostic radiographs, and ends with sharing treatment options for your concern.

Level 2 and 3 :
As a new patient entering our practice in one of these levels you will have an appointment that is 1 to 1 ½ hours. We will evaluate your teeth, gingival health and give you an intraoral camera tour of your mouth. If the gingival health permits, a prophy will be completed. At the completion of the exam the doctor will review with you the areas of concern, consequences of no treatment along with the benefit of treatment.

Level 4 or 5:
Typically, at the first appointment, you will be in the office for 1 1/2 hours. During that time we will discuss with you concerns about your teeth, give you an intraoral camera tour of your mouth, we will take the necessary radiographs, records and photos, the doctor is going to perform a complete exam of your jaw joint, muscles, teeth and gingiva, at the completion of the exam the doctor will take you on a tour of your mouth and review the findings and consequences of no treatment along with benefits of treatment. We may share with you possibilities that dentistry has today to help enhance esthetics if that is a concern of yours.

If you have more complex problems we may bring you back for another appointment, however that is no additional cost. We could need other records to treat you best and if we need that we would discuss why and get your agreement prior to doing that.
